Welcome to the ADHD Kiddo Product Review Zone
(a.k.a. The Land of “This Might Help… Maybe?”)
If you're a parent, teacher, or caregiver of a kid with ADHD, you already know the truth: some products are life-changing miracles… and others become very expensive floor décor. This page is dedicated to helping you sort out which tools might actually support focus, organization, and regulation—and which ones your child will use once before launching into the abyss of their bedroom. We’ll review timers, fidgets, planners, sensory gadgets, and all the “ADHD-approved” wonders the internet swears by, so you can decide what’s genuinely helpful versus what’s just shiny. No guarantees—just honest insights, mild sarcasm, and a shared understanding that every ADHD kid is wonderfully unpredictable.
** These are recommendations based on our experience - if any of the products on the 'Zero' side look like a winner... try it! If we are wrong - write in and tell us what about the product worked for you!
Timers:
Heroes
- Jack Pomodoro Timer - Cool design (great for teens) and durable
- 360 Color Changing Timer - Bright, easy to program, has a quiet feature
- KADMAS Visual Timer - Simple design, easy to program, great for younger kids
- CREAVIA Visual Timer - Sleek design, dim and bright settings, magnetic
- AOUCE Classroom Timers - Inexpensive (since you know they will get lost), kid friendly
Zeroes
- Smart School Wrist Timer - got lost, fell off easily
- Mooking Visual Timer - lost the markers, small boxes made it hard to write in the tasks
Planners
Heroes
- The Anti-Planner: How to Get Stuff Done When You Don't Feel Like it ****** CLEAN EDITION!!! - filled with lots of resources and strategies, includes activities that are designed to boost productivity.... Warning - there is an adult version so for your kiddo, be sure it is the clean one!
- School Edition Colorful Planner - color coded, ways to easily prioritize tasks and undated (no wasted pgs)
- Cynthia Silver's Homework Planner - Undated (no wasted pgs), colorful, multiple ways to track progress (completion, grade tracker, effort rating, etc.)
Zeroes
- AXAM ADHD School Homework Planner for Kids - Not a complete zero but lacks color coding, doesn't hold up well in a backpack
- Cynthia Casca ADHD Kids Planner - Has a lot of stuff, too 'baby' for kids who have more than one class to keep track of
Fidgets
Heroes:
- WCZCBOYA 12 Sided Fidget Cube - Great when you are trying to figure out which type of fidget works best, small can fit in pocket
- Shashibo Shape Shifting Box - Great for killing time at home, NOT FOR SCHOOL USE!!
- Lifelines Scented Lava Gel Pen Set - Very kid dependent (might cause them to get distracted) but I have seen them work wonders!
- Sondeng Calming Strips - GAME CHANGER! Can go on a phone case or bookmark - allowing for kiddos to fidget with no one knowing
